Felsina Chianti Classico 2017 Offer / Sangiovese

At times like these we crave reliability more than ever and I am happy to report that, once again, Fèlsina delivers. The Chianti Classico is, as always, exceptional and true to the Fèlsina style; bold and powerful, yet elegantly showing magnificent potential for ageing.

I am pleased to offer the 2017 Fèlsina Chianti Classico at an unbeatable price of $39 per bottle in a dozen. This is a wine that will certainly age. Grab a case, drink some now and cellar the rest.

A very fresh 2017 with plenty of tight & linear tannins that give the wine energy & drive. Medium to full body. Racy finish. This is impressive. Fantastic texture & complexity on the palate with purple fruit & wet earth. Drink or hold. (95) JAMES SUCKLING

The 2017 Chianti Classico Berardenga is an absolutely gorgeous wine. Racy, powerful and sumptuous in the glass, the 2017 offers terrific depth and textural resonance. Sweet black cherry, plum, mocha, licorice and spice bring out the darker side of Sangiovese. Bold and racy, the 2017 will drink beautifully right out of the gate. ANTONIO GALLONI, Vinous

Sangiovese

Sangiovese is one of the most famous of Italy's "noble" grape varieties and makes it greatest stake for glory in Tuscany, where it is the main constituent of famed wines like Chianti Classico, Brunello di Montalcino and Vino Nobile di Montelpulciano. It is also grown to good effect in California and Australia, although it would be fair to say that neith of these countries are yet to achieve the depth and complexity of the best coming out of Tuscany

Sangiovese has met with some sucess in the New World, particularly in warmer regions of Australia such as Heathcote and Mc Laren Vale, but also the King Valley in alpine Victoria.

In character the grape delivers wines of dark and morello cherry flavour and aromatics alongside dried herb, liquorice and persistent drying tannins. The tannins make the wine the perfect cleansing agent to grilled meat and game dishes.
