Discover Rhone

The Rhone Valley is home to a patchwork of appellations and producers that run the gamut from some of the most expensive and highly sought-after wines in France, to some of its best value offerings. It has a special relationship with Australia too with varieties like Syrah and Grenache being deeply woven into both vinous landscapes.

In the north, wonderfully perfumed, silky syrah is the star expressed through the iconic terroirs of Cote-Rotie, Hermitage and Cornas. While in the south grenache is king, delivering deep, dark and powerful wines from Chateauneuf-du-Pape to more humble Cotes du Rhone offerings. It would be remiss not to mention the white wines though, varieties like viognier, grenache blance, marsanne and rousanne all excel here and provide us with beautifully rich, textured wines that have a remarakble propensity to age and blossom into hedonistic masterpieces.
