Byrne Farm

The Byrne Farm property is located in Nashdale, a 10 minute drive out of Orange. A 40 acre, special parcel of land located on the Northern Slope of Mt Canobolas, an extinct volcano with the most beautiful chocolate/red ferrosol soils at 900m altitude, perfect for growing Pinot and Chardonnay.

The husband and wife team met in 1995 after Jeff landed here on jaunt with friends out from his home town in Nova Scotia. After stints at Agnew Wines as chief maker, a scholar at the 2009 Len Evans Tutorial, a leading wine judge (currently the Chair of the NSW Small Winemakers Show) and over 20 years wine making experience Jeff and Bridgette made the decision to make a ’tree-change’ leaving their Newcastle beach suburb of Stockton for Orange NSW, a cool climate area Jeff had long admired after many years of purchasing fruit.

Their style is sleek and modern, purity of fruit at the heart of what they do and deep understanding of winemaking that informs the finished wines subtly and delicately.
