Located in the hills between Asti and Alba, Marchesi Alfieri is one of the most impressive estates in Piedmont, boasting its own castle atop the highest point in the village of San Martino Alfieri and commanding views over the surrounding countryside which includes the estate’s 24 hectares of vines. The main game here is Barbera d’Asti and under the stewardship of winemaker, Mario Olivero, the estate has made a reputation for modern-styled wines that still preserve the varietal character and regional typicity.
